Yes, we’re a technology company and we believe we can learn and share something new every day. Members of our team enjoy diving into books for different reasons: from finding a solution to a specific problem, deepening our understanding how models and systems work, drawing inspiration and applying that to our work, taking an innovative mindwalk, or finding solace in a strong story, to name a few.

Print books remain our favorite, but electronic or audio books will do just fine, too. We can’t possibly include all the books we’ve enjoyed over the years. We will update this page regularly with suggestions and summaries of what we’re reading, why we like or chose a certain book, and other takeaways. We encourage you to bookmark this page if you want to check back periodically.

And if you can’t afford to buy new or used books, then make time to visit your local library and use the ISBN number to locate the books you want. Feel free to share your recommendations with us.

Mindset

by Carol Dweck

After decades of research, world-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D., discovered a simple but groundbreaking idea: the power of mindset. In this brilliant book, she shows how success in school, work, sports, the arts, and almost every area of human endeavor can be dramatically influenced by how we think about our talents and abilities. People with a fixed mindset—those who believe that abilities are fixed—are less likely to flourish than those with a growth mindset—those who believe that abilities can be developed. Mindset reveals how great parents, teachers, managers, and athletes can put this idea to use to foster outstanding accomplishment.

Dweck offers new insights into her now famous and broadly embraced concept. She introduces a phenomenon she calls false growth mindset and guides people toward adopting a deeper, truer growth mindset. She also expands the mindset concept beyond the individual, applying it to the cultures of groups and organizations. With the right mindset, you can motivate those you lead, teach, and love—to transform their lives and your own.

Nudge

by Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein

Every day we make choices—about what to buy or eat, about financial investments or our children’s health and education, even about the causes we champion or the planet itself. Unfortunately, we often choose poorly. Nudge is about how we make these choices and how we can make better ones. Using dozens of eye-opening examples and drawing on decades of behavioral science research, Nobel Prize winner Richard H.

Thaler and Harvard Law School professor Cass R. Sunstein show that no choice is ever presented to us in a neutral way, and that we are all susceptible to biases that can lead us to make bad decisions. But by knowing how people think, we can use sensible “choice architecture” to nudge people toward the best decisions for ourselves, our families, and our society, without restricting our freedom of choice.
